Greetings and peace be with you! Holy Cross has been sharing peace on our beautiful 4.5 acres in Austin, TX since 1963…over 60 years! We are delighted to welcome you back to 4622 S. Lamar Blvd the weekend of October 18-20, 2024 to celebrate this 60 year legacy of Christ where we continue to strive to See, Know, and Love ALL people through worship and ministry.
Wait a minute…did you do the math and realize that if Holy Cross was established in 1963, then a 60 year anniversary celebration should have taken place last year in 2023, instead of this year in 2024? This leads to something else Holy Cross is delighted to share and celebrate with you!
In 2023, the current Holy Cross congregation embarked on the Holy Fork in the Road process during which we purposefully and prayerfully discerned our future over a 6 month period. In this reformation period when church membership is steadily declining, it was our calling to examine and identify the best way to carry out our mission. We considered three options, and in October 2023, Holy Cross members overwhelmingly voted to pursue a path of Rebirth, which means we will continue to worship and serve as Holy Cross at 4622 S. Lamar, while also embracing drastic change in the spirit of Christ, which includes leveraging our land for a greater good! This means that within the next 2 years, it is very likely that our campus will undergo major changes so that we might carry out the mission of Holy Cross on a larger scale than ever before! We’d love to share more about this with you, so we hope you will join us for our 60th Anniversary Celebration Weekend!
